Dr. Em Natural Beauty Care is One Year Old

Hello all! Can you believe that Dr. Em celebrated its one year anniversary this past August? And I have you to thank! I am grateful that we are all enjoying a lifestyle where we care about our health and wellness by staying away from products with synthetic chemicals and preservatives. Even a simple lotion you buy at the supermarket has so much harmful things in it that it's mind boggling why it continues to take space in store shelves! Well, not really mind boggling. Habits are hard to change and large companies control the narrative and our life literally. It would have been a different story if we happen to live in the UK. Many of the known chemicals that put people at risk for cancer and other medical disorders have now been removed from their health and beauty products. Perhaps, our great grandchildren's generation may see this change in our country. I sure hope so.....

I believe we can do something small but hopefully with big consequences - by being good examples to our family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. Share the products you use and why you use it. The Creator of this earth knew well what is good for us - plants and ingredients derived from plants. We need to take advantage of what nature makes and gives us. When we use ingredients from nature, our bodies respond positively to it because our bodies were designed to respond to it. Our skin condition improves and perhaps healing may even occur. And, we can sleep knowing that we are taking care of the only body we've been given charge to care for and nurture.

It is quite gratifying to hear stories from many of you who have seen significant improvements in your skin texture, condition, and overall skin appearance. I don't take full credit for the positive changes you are experiencing. I am mainly an instrument of someone who knows more than I do. I just happen to listen to the inspiration, use my secular knowledge and education to find out about those ingredients, and then put them together in a formulation that works. Fortunately, I don't have to be a chemist to be an organic skin care formulator. These words are from a famous skin care formulator and instructor in Europe. I just need passion and persistence to do what I have been doing this past year. And I hope to continue to love what I do and be there for you for many years to come.

I would love it if you keep in touch by responding here or in my other blog posts.

Much love,

Dr. Em

Gratitude for Nature’s Beauty

As an avid gardener, I cannot help but be in awe of how beautiful each plant can be when given the care they need to thrive. I have put forth much effort early this year to water, fertilize, and spend time with my plants. And they reciprocated my efforts with an array of beauty this September. My life got so interesting and so busy since I’ve embarked on a new adventure in the skin care business. When I needed to decompress and took the time to breathe, my plants were there to give me joy, reminding me to slow down and that.... life is beautiful just like they are. To this, I am grateful and more importantly, to the Creator of this beautiful earth and the things and people in it. As you think of your skin, think of how you care for your plants. Give it its best chance to thrive - by using nutrient-rich and natural ingredients along with your time and attention.  Be beautiful inside and out.  Dr. Em https://www.dremnatural.com/

Why Retinol For Skin Care?

WHY RETINOL FOR SKIN CARE? When it comes to skincare, retinol (ROL) is often hailed as a miracle worker, slowing down the aging process and even tackling stubborn acne. But what exactly is this wonder ingredient?  Retinol is a form of vitamin A, derived from the dietary breakdown of beta-carotene. When we munch on vibrant fruits and veggies—think red, orange, yellow, and dark green—our bodies transform these colorful delights into various retinoids. Vitamin A isn’t just a one-trick pony; it’s essential for maintaining healthy teeth, bones, mucous membranes, skin, and soft tissues. However, before you rush to stock up on vitamin A supplements, remember that more isn’t always better. Excessive intake can be harmful and may even increase your cancer risk, so it’s best to stick to your physician’s advice. Retinoids in cosmetics, like creams and moisturizers, often come as retinyl acetate, retinyl propionate, or retinyl palmitate. It’s crucial to remember that these topical ret...

Retinol in Skin Care

When it comes to our skin, we know that products with retinol (ROL) can slow down the aging of our skin and may even cure acne. But what is retinol? Retinol is vitamin A, which is derived from dietary hydrolysis of beta carotene. When we eat foods rich in beta carotene (fruits and vegetables with red, orange, yellow, and dark green pigments), our body metabolically converts them to different forms of retinoids. Vitamin A is important to maintain healthy teeth, bones, mucous membranes, skin, and soft tissues. Know however, that taking vitamin A supplement is not advisable (unless your physician prescribes it) because it is harmful when taken in excess (that is, it may increase your cancer risk).  Retinoids that are specifically formulated for cosmetics, such as topical creams and moisturizers are in the form of retinyl acetate, retinyl propionate, or retinyl palmitate. A very important fact to remember is that topical retinoids can cause dryness, redness, burning, and irritation of...
