Decisions Decisions: Lotion Bar, Watery Lotion, Cream, Body Butter?

I read a while back that the  more choices we have, the more complex our life can become. It does make sense, but I see it from a time management perspective. Imagine you are standing at the lotion isle of a supermarket. Would it be quicker if there were only 2 choices to choose from? If you knew what you wanted, it might just take you a second. But what if you went to the store thinking that you needed a better lotion? Well... you might as well plan to be there for a good several minutes. Not only are there hundreds of brands to choose from, you also need to decide if you want lotion, cream, butter, with this ingredient, with that ingredient, the pretty jar, the cute bottle, etc. etc. And if you read ingredients like me, you'll be there a little longer.  Your decision is basically based on several factors including the following: cost and value, preference and knowledge, and past experience. These factors play a huge part in how and what you choose. Your past experience with a par

Endocrine Disruptors in Skin Care and Food Products

The concept of endocrine disruptors may be foreign to some of you, but there are many of you who struggle with endocrine disorders and are somewhat familiar with this topic. A beautiful customer I met this weekend (Lisa) inspired me to write about this topic rather than choosing an easier way of sending her links to read. As someone who has had so much graduate schooling and years in nursing, I know just where to find correct information and understand the medical lingo quite well. I am also a patient with a major endocrine disorder and with several family members suffering from thyroid disorders. So I can come in from both perspectives. The endocrine system is quite responsive/sensitive to man-made or natural chemicals that come in contact with it. Its function can easily be copied, changed, or halted depending on the chemical. The consequence may have an effect on your brain, immune system, reproductive system, and many other problems or symptoms that are sometimes hard to medicall

Gratitude for Nature’s Beauty

As an avid gardener, I cannot help but be in awe of how beautiful each plant can be when given the care they need to thrive. I have put forth much effort early this year to water, fertilize, and spend time with my plants. And they reciprocated my efforts with an array of beauty this September. My life got so interesting and so busy since I’ve embarked on a new adventure in the skin care business. When I needed to decompress and took the time to breathe, my plants were there to give me joy, reminding me to slow down and that.... life is beautiful just like they are. To this, I am grateful and more importantly, to the Creator of this beautiful earth and the things and people in it. As you think of your skin, think of how you care for your plants. Give it its best chance to thrive - by using nutrient-rich and natural ingredients along with your time and attention.  Be beautiful inside and out.  Dr. Em https://www.dremnatural.com/
